Hoard's Dairyman Cover for December 2016
It's that time of the day again. Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall, the daily chores on a farm have to be done. The evening milking begins earlier in the afternoon than usual as the shades of darkness start to stretch across the cold landscape, signaling another winters' night is soon approaching.
Mom heads out to the barn, where the family has begun chores. Everyone has something to do except 3 yr old Michael. He's still too small to handle the chores he wants to do.
But Michael is determined to be like the rest of his family and help. So he surprises mom and tries to bring along an old pail, thats almost as big as him.
That pail seems to be getting heavier and heavier the closer they get to the barn.
Jessie, the dog, senses Michael's distress and looks up to mom for help.
Mom so loves her youngest son and appreciates his earnest effort to be a little helper. She lowers her loving hand down and offers to share the weight of the empty pail full of love.
